This past weekend Sajal and I went to New Hampshire and Vermont. We woke up early Saturday morning and first went to the Currier and Ives Scenic Drive, which is located in New Hampshire. It was about 2 hours from Boston. This drive is known for having beautiful views of the fall foliage. While I found the drive very beautiful, I thought that the foliage was about the same as the rest of New Hampshire and Vermont. The entire state was filled with deep reds, bright oranges, and dashing yellow trees.
I of course had to take a picture with this beautiful yellow tree.
It was super beautiful just to see all of the amazing trees! As we were driving through New Hampshire and Vermont, we also these large mountains. The view made it almost seem like a painting; the mountains almost looked like foggy shadows.
After driving through Currier and Ives Scenic Drive, Sajal and I went to Ben and Jerry's factory! There was about an hour wait to get the ice cream there! Ben and Jerry's was super good as always. Unfortunately, the tour of the factory was closed due to Covid, we still had so much being in an Ice Cream Wonderland.
After that, we drove to Stowe, Vermont. Which is a super cute town. The drive there also had some great foliage views. After Stowe, we drove to Burlingham, Vermont to look at Lake Champlain. While both towns were very cute and pretty, it had started to rain pretty hard. So we went home to Boston!
The next day, we had decided to take a dinner train in New Hampshire. The train was called Cafe Lafayette! This dinner train was very beautiful. It had this timeless elegance feel to it.
The food on this train was amazing! First, we got dinner rolls fresh out of the oven. They were crunch, soft, and warm all at the same time. Then we got to choose between 4 appetizers. Both Sajal and I got brie that was in a crunch wrapping. After that, we got salad, which was very good! Then we got a small scoop of strawberry peach sorbet. Then we finally got dinner. I got the steak (which was delicious) and Sajal got the chicken. Both came with mashed potatoes and squash! Finally, we got coffee and a cream stuffed pastry for dessert. I had never been to a place where they served you multiple courses like this so it was a really fun new experience for me!!
The train just drove along by a river with more foliage views. Here are the pictures below, as well as some pictures of us on the train. The views were really breathtaking.
We boarded the train around 4:15 and disembarked around 7:00. The whole experience was a lot of fun and would highly recommend all to go! And that was our weekend in New Hampshire and Vermont.
